START – The Heritage of Taste

START – Create Cultural Change is a scholarship program implemented through the Robert Bosch Foundation in cooperation with the Goethe-Institut Thessaloniki and the non-profit Federal Association of Sociocultural Centers (Bundesvereinigung Soziokultureller Zentren e.V.), and supported by the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the Bodossaki Foundation.

The aim of the START program is to promote exchange and development in the field of socio-cultural activities and to strengthen social cohesion in Europe. The program targets emerging cultural managers in Greece and supports young creators in promoting cultural initiatives that enhance social cohesion in their communities.

Within the framework of START, Ms. Klairi Bakoura participated as a scholar in the first phase of the program. She successfully completed her training at the OSKAR Das Begegnungszentrum in der Gartenstadt organization, where she implemented her project, “The Heritage of Taste: A Taste of Drewitz,” an experimental documentary that records the gastronomic practices of different nationalities in the Drewitz neighborhood of Potsdam, Germany.

Her proposal for the implementation of the “The Heritage of Taste” initiative in Larissa was one of the 15 prevailing initiatives selected from 30 proposals. The Municipality of Larissa supported the program from the outset and will actively contribute to the implementation of the planned actions, in cooperation with the “Oral History Association,” the “Hippocrates in Larissa” association, and the Larissa Medical Association.

The “The Heritage of Taste” team aspires to create and establish an annual festival dedicated to the cultural heritage of Larissa and its relationship with social, individual, mental, and physical health and well-being, bringing together researchers and professionals from the fields of art and culture, medicine, and health sciences.
